packaging that "sells" for you!
There are so many ‘me-too’, ‘blend-in’ and ‘boring’ food packaging and not enough ‘Stand-out’ package designs in the marketplace. Sadly a great deal of these packages do not do their jobs effectively in ‘selling themselves’. It does not have to be this way. It is my mission to change the way packaging presents itself on the shelf by becoming the best sales person, so companies can truly enjoy the benefits of increased sales and the consumer enjoy the benefits of the products that they purchase.

Derryl P. Kostynuik

President and Creative Director

As a kid growing up, I used my vivid imagination to create action movies in my mind, which helped me to fall asleep at night. During the day I would draw people or design hot rod cars, hockey jerseys, etc. I also invented games for myself to play and would make small action sport figurines and sets for these games. I imagined these creative designs becoming ultra-successful products that people would embrace and love.

I took my tenacious and creative persona into the world of graphic design after graduating from the Alberta College of Art & Design (ACAD). Having a passion to create and design for the business community, I started Pencilworks Studios. Over the years I have had the pleasure to work with many outstanding people and organizations. I certainly have enjoyed the challenges of operating a business but my true joy is seeing the results that my clients have experienced through the creative solutions developed for them. I get terrific satisfaction from clients who have benefited and profited from my creative design solutions. I love being a part of their team.

I am grateful for the life I have. It has shaped my core values of Loyalty and Respect, Integrity – do the right thing, Morality – with a passion to serve, Take Responsibility – be authentic, and be Open to Possibilities. My life events has enabled me to develop and use my vivid imagination so I can fully express myself creatively to help my clients achieve and be recognized for their uniqueness and “stand-out” in a "me-too" world!
